Celebrating summer at the AIA

We are proud to announce a very special presentation of The Stones Speak at the Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”, in June 21st, in order to celebrate the summer solstice. Every year, on the 20th or 21st of June, the sun is at its highest point in the sky in the northern hemisphere. Thus, we observe the longest day of the year for the northern hemisphere (the summer solstice) and conversely the shortest day for the southern hemisphere. For the Northern Hemisphere it is the official start of summer.

Thus, we observe the longest day of the year, known as the summer solstice. For the northern hemisphere it is the official start of summer.

Inspired by this festive occasion, our team will offer to all travellers a surprise performance, which will begin at the exterior of the Airport (Departures Level, Main Building, Entrance 3), at 12:00, and will be concluded at the Airport Museum, which hosts the permanent exhibition of archaeological finds discovered in Mesogaia during the construction of the Airport. The collection contains 172 archaeological artifacts dating from the Neolithic and Early Helladic to the Post-Byzantine period. Inaugurated in 2003, the Museum aims to highlight the rich cultural heritage of the area.
